Re-scoped 2026-07-15: deprioritised from fundamental to polish. The initial release bakes a single browser (Brave, with rewards/sponsored/crypto disabled via managed policy — tracked as #8) into the image instead, which satisfies the "immediately usable, browser minimum" requirement of the core pipeline without any first-boot UI. Any user can download their preferred browser from a website. The picker remains a good early addition for the app-choice experience (game launchers etc.), but it no longer blocks the Easy Install / Simple Safe Updates flow.

The mandatory-browser logic in that spec should be revisited given Brave now ships baked in (the picker becomes optional-choices only, which simplifies it).Original clean-install principle stands: no unchosen application bloat on installed systems.
